Peterborough City Council give the go-ahead for the next phase of Fletton Quays, Weston Homes’ exciting mixed use development at Plot 3.

Weston Homes have secured planning permission for their exciting 280-unit scheme at Fletton Quays, on the banks of the river Nene, Peterborough. The proposals will form a vital part of the design philosophy for the wider Fletton Quays development. The proposal incorporates four new residential blocks providing 280 apartments in total. Each block is connected with adjoining podium decks, providing semi private courtyard gardens for residents to enjoy. Retail/leisure units are situated to the promenade edge providing active frontage and enjoyable spaces for the public to use.

The proposal contains significant areas of high quality public realm, including a promenade along the river edge creating a linear park providing both a welcoming and accessible public space. The scheme offers a network of green and blue streets linking the main public spaces with the water for residents and visitors to appreciate.

The architectural and landscape design demonstrates a strategy for enriching these external spaces and whilst the intention is to create a place that connects well and strongly relates to its surroundings, it is also desirable that the development will have its own distinct character which will add to community value and visual quality to the neighbourhood.
